21 May 2008

Jonathan's parents and sister came to visit last week. I LOVE the Crandell's. They not only painted our house but they painted our house AND watched our kids while Jonathan and I went on a date. And not just any date. Jonathan took me all the way to Washington and surprised me with a very fancy hotel and a Taylor Swift concert. It was a first for both of us. We had tons of fun and a great laugh when all the little girls around us were screaming with glee and we were plugging our ears. Haha. It was so loud and apparently we are really old. We loved hanging out and not having interuptions from kids. And it was great to come home and have so much work done on the house and the kids so well taken care of. (Grandma even introduced the kids to asparagus and they can't get enough of it.) Thanks Mom and Dad (AND KATIE)! You guys are the best! And thank you Jonathan for being the best husband ever!!!

Why I love Mother's Day!

As if sleeping in and having breakfast in bed isn't enough...my kids really out did themselves this year. My mothers day celebrations this year began at Trayton's preschool party they had in honor of moms. In class earlier that week Trayton made this AWESOME card for me.
Then on Saturday the Primary had a mom's party. The kids served us brunch, did our hair, and painted our nails. I've never been so pampered.

The kids also filled out these questionaires during primary last week. Here are a few of my favorite responses from my little men....
My mom is happiest when: (Kade) I go outside. (Trayton) I call her a princess.
The funniest thing about my mom is: (Kade) when she makes faces at me.
My mom is pretty, just like: (Trayton) a shiny pretty dress.
My Favorite thing to do with my mom is: (Kade) when she sits on me. (Haha, don't ask.)
Man, I love these kids. Happy Mother's Day!

Heaven

The military gave Jonathan a few weeks of R&R and then Jonathan took some leave so we had him home with us for the entire month of April. It was Heaven. I'm so sad that he had to go back to work today. But the last two weeks of his leave was very productive. For Jordynn's birthday we splurged and got a swing set for the kids. The boys call it a park. I can't express how excited I am about our 'park'. Now the boys never want to come inside and my days are so relaxing!! Why didn't I get this sooner?? Jordynn loves it too but she requires a bit of supervision.

And Jonathan finished the enormous shed he built. I am so amazed at his talent for building. We moved from a big house to a little house and had no storage room here. But now we do. He even installed a window unit to keep it cool during the summer months so we can store our year supply out there. Jonathan you are amazing. Thanks for all your hard work.
