Happy Birthday Trayton!!

Yesterday was Trayton's birthday. He has been looking forward to being five for a REALLY long time. We started his day with oatmeal for breakfast (this kid LOVES oatmeal). Then we met playgroup at the park. Trayton ran around telling everyone (including strangers) that it was his birthday and he was 5. At 130 we had his Pirate birthday party. We had eye patches instead of birthday hats. Trayton thought it was a blast. Here is the birthday boy demolishing the pinata.
We let the kids take a bite out of their cake after they blow out the candles. For some reason they really love not using a fork and making a mess. (Don't laugh at my pirate ship cake...I don't claim to be a cake decorator.)

Here's Trayton showing off his book from Nana. Thanks Nana. Trayton LOVES it.

And here's a random picture of most of the kids that came.

After the party we had pizza for dinner (another one of Trayton's favorites) and then went to T-ball. Trayton did really well during his game. Afterwards he asked me how he did and I told him I was impressed on how far he hit the ball. He replied, "Yeah, five year olds do that sort of thing."
Trayton you are a blessing to have in my life. You are a sensitive and caring big brother. You try so hard to make mom and dad proud. You are kind and polite. You love your scriptures and ask about Jesus every day. You are growing too fast, but I know that it makes you happy to think of the day when you'll be just like your Dad. Thank you for teaching me how to be a mom and for loving me unconditionally. Dad and I love you more than words can express. You are the best 5 year old EVER. Happy Birthday!

Our week in Review...

We try to keep busy when Jonathan is gone. Time goes by faster if we don't think about how much we miss Daddy. So this week we went to Zoo Boise with playgroup. At the zoo the kids got to ride on their first carousel.

The kids liked the penguin display.

At the doctors office (Trayton got his staples out) Jordynn had her first sucker. She LOVED it. But Mom didn't like the sticky mess, although, Mom did enjoy how quiet she was.

And last, but not least, Kade! I've told him dozens of times to stay off my fence. But they threw a ball into the neighbors yard. Kade knew he could just climb the fence and get it. He did make it over..but upon coming back he got hung up for a little bit. I did make him hang there while I went and got my camera. Even though he's hanging by his shorts he still looks so pleased that he got their ball back.

Blood Brothers: A Scar for a Scar!

Today was a fun day. The boys were especially whiny today. They argued over EVERYTHING. And then, this afternoon, peace. Jordynn was sleeping. The boys were playing sweetly together in the backyard. Or so I thought... Screams! The kind that makes every mother jump from her seat. I got to the door the same time Trayton did. Blood running down his face. Kade right behind him, with a look of guilt and terror on his face. Apparently they were throwing rocks at each other. Hmmm, sounds like a fun game. After a few minutes of a cold compress and no signs of clotting I made a decision. Wake Jordynn. Throw three kids into the car. And head to the ER. (Have I mentioned that Jonathan's gone again? Yup, he's in Alabama doing training all month!) 20 minutes later we get to the hospital (I drove out to the base). Trayton tried to be brave.

3 staples later.
Now the boys will have matching scars (Remember last month when Trayton hit Kade in the head with the shovel.)

Kade!

I love Kade. He always keeps us on our toes. Life is never dull. Last Sunday I made the mistake of letting Kade use the rest room on his own. He wants to use the "BOYS" cause he's a boy. But that means I can't follow. Well, he couldn't reach. He tried but fell short. Our Sunday ended in this...
I cleaned the bathroom and somebody handed Jonathan paper towels and tape. Haha. Jonathan made him a loin clothe to hide his nakedness while we ran to the car and went home. Good thing church was over!
This Sunday the boys were suppose to be putting jammies on when I found Kade like this...
He had put on a pair of Jordynn's panty hose! Hah!
And for those interested, here is a picture of our newly painted house...
