Snow Shoveling

Shoveling snow is definitely not something we are new too. We had lots of opportunities to do so in Alaska and we've had many more opportunities since we have been here in Idaho. I'm kindof getting tired of it. The boys, however, LOVE it. They have to have their own shovel and work right along side me. It's sweet how they try so hard to help. As you can see, Kade has a hard time moving in his snowsuit and he normally ends up on the ground. Trayton does a pretty good job, but more often than not he takes the snow from the lawn and puts it back on the sidewalk. Oh well, at least they are having fun.

Sunday!

This is a typical Sunday afternoon for us. Trayton picks a random place to lay down (this time in the hallway) and throws his blanket over his head and falls asleep. Jonathan asleep on the couch. And Kade stubbornly trying to stay awake and eventually falling asleep mid book. And what is Mom doing??? Well, she knows all too well that when her boys wake up they are going to be hungry. So, of course, she isn't napping she is in the kitchen making dinner. Atleast the house is quiet...

Belly Shot!

I've had a lot of requests for a belly shot so here it is. Awful I know. I've still got 9 weeks and 2 days to go and I've already gained over 20 lbs. Trayton tells me almost everyday that my tummy is huge and that it must be time for sister to come out. I think he's as anxious as I am to see and hold his sister.

Guitar Hero

I've heard alot about this Guitar Hero game but this was the first time I had ever seen it in action. It was too funny watching these grown men (still in uniform) rocking out. Even Kade had to join in on the action.

Prayers

I just recently found out that one of the young men who was our cub scout up in Alaska was diagnosed with a type of bone cancer. I know most of you don't know him but he can use your prayers. This is his mother's plea that she sent out to members of the Fairbanks Alaska Stake: I know the collective power of prayer and the Priesthood. I am asking that a general request be made to all the Stake for an exercise of faith and prayers in behalf of my son, Ryland Ellis, 12 years old, Deacon of the Eielson Ward, living in North Pole City, a 6th grader at North Pole Middle School. He has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a bone cancer tumor, as of last Wednesday. We are waiting the results of his bone scan from Friday 2/1/08, to determine when he and I will leave for Salt Lake City, LDS Primary Children's Hospital.
If anyone cares to join in a general fast, being Fast Sunday to have as many as possible keep him in their prayers. Thank you so much. I have great faith that the Lord recognizes our strength in numbers.
Humbly,
Sister Shari Huntsman Sims
I know fast Sunday has already come and gone but I felt the need to pass on their request. Ryland is an amazing young man and I pray with all my heart that he will be comforted during his trials and that treatments will be successful. Our prayers are with you Ryland.

Sooo Tired!!

Kade is in that inbetween phase of naps. If he takes a nap during the day he doesn't go to sleep at night, but if he doesn't take a nap he gets really tired and grouchy. We decided we would rather have him grouchy and sleep at night then be up every couple of hours at night. So, instead of giving him a nap the other day I took him to the grocery store with me thinking it would be a good distraction for him. Well, obviously my plan failed. He crashed. I tried to wake him but he refused. As uncomfortable as it probably was he laid his little head down on the cart and slept the entire time I was in the store. Poor tired kid.

Ketchup Surprise!

The other night I took the family out to dinner to celebrate Jonathan's completion of another semester of school. We went to a little 50's diner here in Mountain Home (our choices here are pretty limited). Kade chose our booth and I sat down across from him. Before any of us knew what was going on Kade grabbed the bottle of Ketchup on the table and squeezed. It must have been a very full bottle of Ketchup. Ketchup sprayed all over the table, ceiling, wall, and of course me. I was covered. There was a huge glob of it in my hair and it was all over my jacket. It was so disgusting. I didn't know whether to laugh or yell. What was Kade thinking?!
