Mom, Kade's Stuck!

Kade is my fearless wonder. He never shys away from any challenge and is always getting himself in crazy situations. Here is our latest adventure with dear little Kade.

Trayton (coming in from outside): Mom, Kade's stuck.

Mom (only half listening): Oh really, What's he stuck on this time? (Kade gets stuck alot!)

Trayton: On the ROOF!

Mom (getting a little panicky): WhAt!!!!!!

Trayton: Yeah, Kade's on the roof and he can't get down. You better come help him.

Mom (trying to find shoes and race outside): @#$%^$%$# (no, I didn't really swear but I don't know how else to express what I was thinking).

Here is what I saw...

Kade (dangling from the roof): MOM!! Help! I'm stuck.

Mom (as I'm climbing the ladder and taking the picture): PLEASE, don't move, I'm coming.

FYI: no I did not make him hang there while I went back inside the house to look for a camera. I saw the camera on my way out and grabbed it to prove to Dad that Kade truly was on the roof. And before you call child services on me I should let you know that the ladder is put away and I don't think we will accidently leave it out again!
This kid sure keeps me busy!

The Roof!

Jonathan's dad is coming this week to help Jonathan put a new roof on the house. So Jonathan had a few of his friends come over this weekend to pull the old shingles off so that the roof will be ready to be reshingled when Dad gets here. We checked the forecast before tearing the roof off and things looked okay. The forecast predicted a small chance of scattered showers so we expected a few sprinkles but nothing to worry about. WELL, 5 minutes after Jonathan got the last of the shingles off the roof it started to rain. Not the sprinkles we expected but a downpour. It was not good. It poured for about 15-20 minutes and within that time I ran around the house with bowls and towels trying to catch the dripping water while the boys ran around yelling, "MOM! It's raining in the house!" Today, Jonathan spent the day making sure everything dried out okay and working on the roof so that, if it rains again, hopefully it won't come into the house. I can hardly wait for Jonathan's dad to get here!

Another Bee Update!

I don't know if everyone is as fascinated by bees as Jonathan (probably not), but I have had several people ask about them. So here is a brief update. The bees seem to be doing well. They have already atleast doubled in numbers. Jonathan has already added the second brood box so that they have room to grow. And they have started producing honey, not enough for us to take any yet... just enough for themselves. This picture was taken by Jonathan last week when he checked up on them.

I think they are crazy ugly and it creeps me out. But it is kind of cool seeing the honey comb they've built.
Here is a much cuter picture of my kids. Man I love these guys!

Who does Jordynn look like?

I can't decide who she looks like...if anybody. So I'm posting a couple of pictures of her and want you to tell me your opinion. Who does she look like?

Grandma

On Monday, the 5th, I went to the airport to pick Jonathan up after his trip to AZ. To my pleasant surprise Jonathan brought a stowaway with him. GRANDMA CAME!! The boys were SO excited to see Grandma. I don't think he could have given me a better surprise. It was so nice to see Grandma and she did so much for me when she was here. I literally chained her to my sewing machine and put her to work. In the short week and a half that she was here she sewed two receiving blankets, one pink John Deere quilt, our living room curtains, AND Jordynn's blessing dress. WOW. I hope to someday be half the woman she is. Thanks for everything Mom, we love ya.

Saturday Outing!

Saturday we went to a Park in Boise with Jonathan's mom and some of his cousins that live here in Idaho. We had a GREAT time! It was fun to get to know more of Jonathan's family and the boys LOVED feeding the ducks and geese. The geese were very impatient and if you didn't throw the bread fast enough they would try to take it right out of your hands. Kade learned that the hard way when a goose tried to eat his finger. The baby goslings were too cute though and there was soo many of them. We had such a good time. We even rented these little paddle boats and raced around on the pond. The boys thought it was so great. Dad and Trayton had fun chasing the geese on the pond. Kade looks angry in this picture but really he is just about to fall asleep. I was so afraid that he would nod off and fall right off the boat! Thanks for hanging out with us Pat, we had SO much fun!

Filthy PKU

Do you all remember having to make your kids get the PKU done? You know, the test where the lab tech pricks your baby's heel and then squeezes it until they get enough blood to fill the four dime size circles on the paper?! Jordynn had hers done today. Only the lab tech couldn't get her to bleed. So he pricked her again. Jordynn was turning purple because she was crying so Hard. But he still couldn't fill even one of those circles. So he pricked her AGAIN!! My poor baby was so distraught! Unfortunately he STILL couldn't get her to bleed. So he called over another lab tech and they practically sliced her heel open to make it bleed. An hour later it was still bleeding! Three pricks and a slice! The lab tech felt really bad, but my poor Jordynn was hysterical. Every time she bumps her heel she bursts into tears and she now has a little bruise on her leg because the lab techs were squeezing it so hard. Filthy PKU!Okay so in order to make this post a little less dismal I thought I would include a couple of pictures. I think it's safe to say these boys sure love their little sister.

Jordynn

Everyone has been telling me that I need to post more pics of Jordynn. So here they are.

I swear she gets cuter every day! What a good baby.

Jonathan's Vacation

Jonathan just got back from a nice 5 day vacation to Arizona. He went down for his brother Andrew's wedding (and to catch up on his sleep!). It was really hard to let him go but I am SOO glad that he had the chance to be there and support his brother. Congrats Andrew and Mandy! We wish you guys the best. Also while Jonathan was there he got to attend both Landie's and Lyla's baby blessings. They are such cute little girls. I can hardly wait for these three little girls to be able to get together and play. Jonathan didn't get very many pictures but here are a few.
