According to WebMD, "A concussion is a brain injury that is caused by a sudden blow to the head or to the body."
According to Trayton, "A concussion hurts."
I guess it's a good thing he's so tough!
I didn't witness the event. Just the aftermath. The whole family was at the commissary for some rapid shopping. You know. The kind of shopping where you divide the list in two. Dad takes two kids. Mom takes two kids. And you get two weeks of shopping done as fast as possible. Dad took Trayton and Jordynn and went to get a cart. He picked up Jordynn to stick her in the child seat part and heard Trayton say something about riding in the cart too. Before he had a chance to set Jordynn in the cart Trayton was on the floor crying and the cart was tipped on its side. Fortunately he hit his head on a wooden pallet. I say fortunately because the pallet has more give than the concrete floor. He obviously had a headache but seemed relatively okay. Until we started driving home and he couldn't stay awake. And then became nauseus. We ended up at the Dr.'s where they confirmed our suspicions of a concussion. Thankfully it is a mild one. As a precaution I had to get up every two hours throughout the night to make sure he could wake up. He woke up this morning feeling great and the Dr said for him to start a normal routine again. Thank goodness.

Time for an Update!
When the husband starts commenting on the lack of family posts it typically is a sign that I need to make an update! So here we go.
Braelynn is growing like a weed. She started crawling just before Christmas and now follows me around the house and gets into all sorts of mischief. It's hard to see in this picture but this is my first attempt at putting a pig-tail in her hair. She now cruises along furniture and even stood on her own for a little bit a few weeks back. Unfortunately, when I let go of her hands she didn't know how to sit down and just stood there crying and now is absolutely TERRIFIED of standing alone.
This picture makes me laugh. It's a little blurry but Jordynn's face is just so ... Jordynn. She LOVES shoes and is always wandering around the house in my shoes. Kade thought he would be funny and slip on a pair that Jordynn had been wearing. Jordynn was mortified that Kade was wearing 'her' shoes. How dare he!
Jordynn doesn't normally take naps. But occassionally after a long day of hard playing she crashes in unusually places.
For Valentines this year I surprised Jonathan by taking him to a hockey game. Neither of us really know a lot about hockey but we had fun trying to figure out what was going on. There was even a pretty good fight between two players. Not exactly a 'romantic' evening but tons of fun.
