Part 2 aka The NIGHTMARE
The second leg of my trip, from Vegas to Idaho, was a nightmare. We left early Monday morning and made it all the way to Provo without any incidents. We stopped for lunch in Provo and it began to snow. We decided to hurry and get back on the road so we could hopefully get ahead of the storm. We made it to Salt Lake. All Traffic StOpPeD. There was a 5 car accident who know where up ahead. We crept along for 2 hours before we finally made it off the freeway. The next 3 hours were spent trying to get around the accident. We didn't make it far. It took us 5 hours to drive from Salt Lake to Layton. The whole time we sat there in traffic it snowed. By the time we made it back to the freeway the roads were so bad that we slid all the way down the on ramp. Needless to say we were all discouraged and exhausted. So we turned around and found a hotel. By then the roads were really bad and the kids were hungry. We tried to order in but all of the restaurants had an hour and a half wait time for delivery. So we walked/slid down the block to Denny's.
The kids were great. They thought they were having a great adventure. Katie even won a toy out of the machine for Kade.
Tuesday morning we headed off again. The roads were better but still not good. At one point we were driving 30 mph in a 75 mph zone. It took a long time but we finally made it home. Yeah! Thanks mom and Katie for all the help getting here. I'm so glad I had you to keep me sane in my moment of crisis.
