7 years of Magic!

For our anniversary date Jonathan surprised me with tickets to Mystique Dining. It was so much fun. They have a dining hall (it sits only 18 guests at a time) in which you are served a 5 course meal by a white gloved butler and lady in waiting. We got all dressed up and everything. Our butler and lady in waiting were hilarious and the food was divine. (We were served a shrimp and cucumber appetizer, an astonishingly good salad, pomegranate blueberry sorbet to cleanse the pallet and then a 16 oz prime rib, baked potatoe, and veggies. And no I didn't eat the steak all in one sitting. For dessert we had this delicious cheesecake topped with chocolate and a strawberry.) Then the 'show' began. Jonathan splurged so that we were at the head of the table. He made me sit in seat one. The show started with our magician appearing out of thin air. His name was Jon Armstrong. In 2007 Jon was honored as the Close Up Magician of the Year by the Academy of Magical Arts and Sciences. According to Jon that's the grammy's for magicians. And he just found out he's been nominated again (for the 5th year in a row). He's a master of card tricks. I was sitting right next to him. I actually got to participate in several of his tricks. But never once did I see how he switched the cards. I'm still in AWE. He had me analyze his deck of cards and I actually counted the cards and made sure there was no way he could be sneaky with them. I have no idea how he did his tricks. The best trick was when Jonathan got played. He was doing this trick where he snapped his finger and the 5 of spades showed up on the top of the deck. So he snapped his fingers again and Jonathan turned the top card over. No 5 of spades, so he repeated the finger snap and Jonathan turned over the next card. Still no spade. Jonathan and I were so focused on the deck of cards...trying to see how he made the five of spades appear... that we didn't realize the card we were looking for had magically appeared in the magician's mouth. Haha. Everybody was laughing at Jonathan for not seeing it sooner. He must have turned over four or five cards before someone told him to look up. We had such a great time.
Jonathan, thanks for the great night out. But most importantly thanks for marrying me. My life has never been so complete. I love waking up in the morning next to you and falling asleep in your arms. I love how our kids adore you. And I absolutely love you the most! Thanks for saying yes!! I can't wait to see what MAGIC the next seven years brings!
