I just recently found out that one of the young men who was our cub scout up in Alaska was diagnosed with a type of bone cancer. I know most of you don't know him but he can use your prayers. This is his mother's plea that she sent out to members of the Fairbanks Alaska Stake: I know the collective power of prayer and the Priesthood. I am asking that a general request be made to all the Stake for an exercise of faith and prayers in behalf of my son, Ryland Ellis, 12 years old, Deacon of the Eielson Ward, living in North Pole City, a 6th grader at North Pole Middle School. He has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a bone cancer tumor, as of last Wednesday. We are waiting the results of his bone scan from Friday 2/1/08, to determine when he and I will leave for Salt Lake City, LDS Primary Children's Hospital.
If anyone cares to join in a general fast, being Fast Sunday to have as many as possible keep him in their prayers. Thank you so much. I have great faith that the Lord recognizes our strength in numbers.
Humbly,
Sister Shari Huntsman Sims
I know fast Sunday has already come and gone but I felt the need to pass on their request. Ryland is an amazing young man and I pray with all my heart that he will be comforted during his trials and that treatments will be successful. Our prayers are with you Ryland.
